Personal development · tested first

You did everything right. It still doesn't feel like your life.

I test big personal-development ideas on my own life, strip them to the useful core, and share the short version—so you can find what works for you.

Small steps. Big impact. No guru promises, no map you have to copy, and no pretending clarity arrives overnight.

Start here

You've built a good life. It just stopped fitting.

This space is for capable people who are quietly tired of performing a version of themselves that no longer feels true.

  • You followed the sensible path—degree, career, responsibility—and still feel far from yourself.
  • You're tired of being the strong one. Not weak. Tired. There's a difference.
  • You've read the books and tried the practices, but the useful part keeps getting buried.
  • You're open to growth, but allergic to anyone who wants to become your guru.
  • You don't need another identity to perform. You need room to hear your own answer.

How I work

Guide, not guru

I share what I have walked, without standing above you.

Become your own teacher

The goal is not to need me. It is to trust yourself more.

Your map, not mine

My story is an example. You decide what belongs on your path.

One day at a time

Clarity is developed, not delivered. Small honest steps count.

The Self-Return Letters

One honest, useful note most Sundays.

Receive tested ideas, small practices, and pages from behind Dare to Restart. The guide stays free and public; joining the Letters is a separate choice.

The person behind the tests

Hello, I'm Yanting.

I'm a Chinese-born writer and founder living in the UK. I spent years building identities that made other people proud: the good student, the capable professional, the person who could carry everything without asking for much.

From the outside, those lives worked. Inside, the fit kept changing. I went looking for answers in books, teachers, work, and spiritual practice. The turning point was not finding one perfect answer. It was learning to test what I found, keep the useful part, and become my own teacher.

Now I share those experiments plainly—including the cost, the limits, and the short version that helped. My story is proof that a restart is possible. It is not a map you have to copy.

Currently writing

Dare to Restart

A book in progress for people who have outgrown the life they worked hard to build—and need an honest companion while they let go, get lost, and begin again.

Dare to Restart follows the cycle of hearing the call, releasing an old identity, living through the uncertain middle, and building the next life one deliberate step at a time.

Letter subscribers can follow the book as I write it: early pages, notes from behind the writing, and first word when it is ready.

Personal support

1:1 Self-Return Guidance

For the moments when reading isn't enough and you want someone beside you.

This is private, personal work—part reflective coaching, part inner child and energy work, part honest conversation. There is no fixed formula. We shape it around your season, with one aim: helping you hear and trust your own answer.

It begins with a short application. Not to be exclusive, but because this work goes best when we are genuinely aligned. I read every application personally and usually reply within 3–5 working days.

This is supportive spiritual and reflective work. It complements, but never replaces, therapy, medical care, mental-health treatment, or professional legal and financial advice.

I also run a small crystal shop—ethically sourced pieces and grounded tools for your practice. A crystal is a companion, not a shortcut around your healing. But the right companion helps.

Before you begin

Honest answers.

Is this therapy or coaching?

No. This site shares personal-development ideas and lived experiments. The 1:1 work is reflective guidance, not therapy or mental-health treatment.

Do I need to be spiritual for this?

No. The practical door comes first. Use what helps, question what does not, and leave any language that is not yours.

What actually arrives in the letters, and how often?

A short personal letter most Sundays when there is something honest and useful to share: a tested idea, a small practice, a reflection, or a note from behind Dare to Restart.

I've read the books and tried the practices already. How is this different?

I do not add another complete system. I test ideas on my own life, show what they cost, and give you the shortest useful version so you can decide what belongs on your map.

How long does this take?

There is no honest overnight answer. Clarity is developed, not delivered. The work happens one day and one small decision at a time.

How do I work with you one-to-one?

Start with the short application. I read every response personally, check whether the work is a genuine fit, and usually reply within 3–5 working days.
